Shelves adjust easily. Peg holes run along the side panels about 30mm apart. Need more room for binders? Move a shelf up. Storing vinyl records? Vinyl jackets are 31cm tall — standard shelf spacing won’t fit. Two clicks up and they slide right in. A fixed-shelf bookcase can’t do that.
Magnetic quiet-close. When the door swings shut, the last centimeter is pulled in by a magnet. No click, no slam. Walk from the study to the bedroom at night — no one hears it. In a hotel room, guests won’t bother the next room closing the cabinet door. Affects review scores.
LED strip is optional. The standard cabinet has no light — just steel and glass. If you need display lighting, tick the option when ordering. We install it at the factory, no wiring needed. The strip is warm 3000K — soft ambient glow, not harsh direct light. Put a figurine, a crystal piece, or a vinyl record cover inside and the light changes how it looks. Without the strip there’s no power cord to hide, cleaner look.
Handle is a brass-finished spherical metal knob. Solid, not plated plastic. Has weight in hand.
The arched door is a small detail with an outsized effect. Most steel bookcases have square doors. An arched door needs an extra stamping step — many factories skip it. But once installed, the whole cabinet reads differently. Closer to Scandinavian, closer to a piece of furniture than a storage unit.
Fluted glass vs tempered glass — which one to pick
Fluted glass is semi-transparent. Living room, bedroom, hotel room — items inside are visible but not fully exposed. Good for decorative use where you want a little privacy without closing things off entirely. Boutique stores use fluted glass often — merchandise half-visible, half-hidden. Passersby take a second look.
3C tempered glass is fully transparent. If it breaks, it shatters into small blunt pieces — won’t cut anyone. Better for homes with children, or when you want the contents fully visible as part of the display.

Dust protection — an underrated feature
With the glass door closed, dust stays out. Three months without wiping and the inside is still clean. Open shelving can’t do that — book spines collect dust in a week. In a high-rise with windows open, it’s worse.
For hotel procurement this matters. Houskeeping can’t wipe inside every cabinet in every room every day. A glass door eliminates the problem. The room looks cleaner. First impression improves.

Each cold-rolled steel shelf holds 20kg evenly distributed. A full row of standard hardcover 32mo books runs about 15-18kg. Well within range. For oversized art books or reference volumes, just put fewer per shelf.
Q: How is it packed for sea freight? Will the glass break?
KD flat-pack. The glass door is individually boxed with foam and a wooden edge protector. The steel body gets moisture-proof film, corner guards, and a carton. After hundreds of export containers, glass breakage rate is under 0.3%. Assembly takes a screwdriver and the included diagram.
